Prayers Answered As Sick Child Undergoes Heart Surgery | New

In June, Jadeene Burnett applied for financial assistance to pay for heart surgery for her then six-month-old daughter Jhenesa Didia.

Vital surgery could only be performed abroad. A nurse by profession, Burnett has helped save many lives but watched helplessly as her only child battled complex congenital heart disease.

On Monday, the delighted Burnett contacted the newspaper to express her gratitude, as earlier today, Jhenesa underwent successful surgery at the Alabama Children’s Hospital in the United States of America.

“I really want to THE STAR and the public to know how much I appreciate the support I have received from my family, friends and colleagues. I am very grateful to everyone who shared on various social media websites and those who responded to the newspaper article and radio show. She is getting the help she needs, so thank you and God bless you all, ”she said.

Baby Jhenesa was diagnosed with heart disease shortly after birth and had to undergo several life-saving surgeries before she was one year old. Burnett was seeking US $ 232,141 (approximately J $ 34 million) for her to undergo heart surgery in the United States. Although she only managed to raise US $ 10,000 (approximately J $ 1.5 million), she and Jhenesa were able to travel to the United States on August 19 for medical treatment.

Burnett said the child’s condition had worsened “to the point where she had to be intubated.”

“Her heart stopped beating twice and they had to give her several doses of a medicine to reverse the cardiac arrest in order to make her heart beat again. Her heart function had deteriorated so badly that she had to. to have the operation on Monday at the nearest hospital, which is the Alabama Children’s Hospital. I’m so grateful that she had this opportunity, “the mother said.

Burnett said Jhenesa is now stable and, at least for the immediate future, does not need further surgery.
